Eli Roth‘s recently-launched company The Horror Section has signed a deal with Construction Film, the German-based production banner founded by producer and actress Veronica Ferres (“The Unforgivable,” “Salt and Fire”).
The multi-year, multi-picture co-financing and production alliance — signed in partnership with Media Capital Technologies — has launched with the announcement of two genre-driven feature titles.
Leading the slate is a German-language remake of Eli Roth’s 2015 psychological crime thriller “Knock Knock,” which originally starred Keanu Reeves and Ana de Armas. Roth is set to produce. He will also write and direct an original project, “Final Cut,” a giallo feature currently in development in which Veronica Ferres will play a principal role. Further details on all projects remain under wraps.
“I’m so thrilled to be partnering with Veronica and the team at Construction Film. Veronica is a superb talent both as a star and producer, and I look forward to working with her as a director and producing partner,” said Roth. “I have had tremendous success with international co-productions and look forward to expanding The Horror Section’s global footprint by tapping into the amazing talent all across Europe. Horror films appeal globally, and we look forward to scaring and thrilling audiences worldwide.”
Added Feres: “I am beyond excited about our creative partnership. Eli Roth is an A-list director and producer, and I have adored his work for many years. He is a unique filmmaker who is finally creating his own universe, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it, along with my wonderful partners Tobias Rosen and Ralf Berchtold.”
The Horror Section was launched by Roth in March 2025 in partnership with MCT with a focus on building a robust library of intellectual property. The company will produce, acquire, and distribute a wide range of content, including independent theatrical films, television series, games, podcasts, and live events. MCT provides strategic support across corporate finance, project finance, and day-to-day operational management.
MCT and The Horror Section recently announced they would fully finance and produce Roth’s indie horror Ice Cream Man, which The Horror Section has U.S. rights to the film with plans for wide theatrical release in 2026. Roth described the project as his “most terrifying and insane” film yet.
Construction Film was founded by Ferres in 2013 with the goal of producing high-quality feature films and television series for the German and international markets. Alongside Ferres, Ralf Berchtold has been a longtime producer for the company, while Tobias Rosen, a former Sky Germany executive, joined the company as a producer in 2024.
Notable international credits for Construction include “Shattered” starring John Malkovich, “Crisis” starring Gary Oldman and “The Unforgivable,” starring Viola Davis and Sandra Bullock. The company is set to co-produce “The Weight,” starring Ethan Hawke and Russell Crowe.
Eli Roth is represented by WME. Veronica Ferres is represented by CAA.
