Santander will bat fifth as the designated hitter against the Detroit Tigers on Sunday.
After missing two games with hip soreness, the 30-year-old outfielder entered Saturday’s game against the Tigers as a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning and was intentionally walked.
Santander missed last weekend’s games in Seattle due to a shoulder issue before returning for three games and then his hip became the problem.
Santander has struggled this season with a .187 average, five homers and 16 RBI.
