Buffalo8 Acquires Global Rights to India's 'Lord Curzon Ki Haveli'

American film and media company Buffalo8 has acquired the international distribution rights to “Lord Curzon Ki Haveli” (Lord Curzon’s Manor) marking the first Indian feature film to carry the company’s banner in North America.

The dark comedy thriller, which represents actor-filmmaker Anshuman Jha’s directorial debut, caught the distributor’s attention during its European premiere at Razor Reel Flanders in Belgium, Europe’s leading genre film festival.

Buffalo8, the company behind Spike Lee’s “Rodney King” and Netflix’s “Conversations With a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes,” sees this acquisition as part of its broader strategy to expand its genre footprint into international markets.

“‘Lord Curzon’s Manor’ is a compelling story that bridges cultural and historical narratives with a unique perspective,” said Grady Craig, president of Buffalo8. “This first-time director successfully delivers on a blend of black comedy and thriller genres, which is a rare combination for Indian cinema. We’re excited about the film’s ability to resonate across diverse audiences.”

The Hitchcockian homage features an impressive ensemble cast including International Emmy nominee Arjun Mathur, Rasika Dugal, Paresh Pahuja, Tanmay Dhanania, and Zoha Rahman. Set during a mysterious dinner party in London, the film combines suspense, satire and social commentary.

“We are thrilled to partner with Buffalo8 for the North American release of ‘Lord Curzon Ki Haveli,’” said director Jha. “Their commitment to bold, original voices and genre-pushing cinema makes them the perfect home for this film.”

He added: “‘Lord Curzon Ki Haveli’ is a truly unique cinematic experience — one that challenges how films are perceived in India and reshapes how Indian cinema is viewed globally. Buffalo8 coming on board is more than just an acquisition; it’s a powerful reaffirmation that bold, original ideas and distinctive storytelling have a place on the world stage.”

Produced by Golden Ratio Films, First Ray Films and Adya Films, “Lord Curzon Ki Haveli” recently received certification from India’s Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and is expected to hit North American theaters later this year. Further distribution details are forthcoming.
