Hall of Famer Chipper Jones and two-time MLB All-Star Marquis Grissom have been named managers of the NL and AL, respectively, for the 2025 All-Star Futures Game at Truist Park in Atlanta.
The game, preparing for its 26th edition, features the top Minor League prospects competing as part of All-Star Saturday, just a few days ahead of the 2025 MLB All-Star Game.
Jones, who played all 19 seasons of his MLB career as a Brave, was drafted first overall by Atlanta in the 1990 MLB Draft. The switch-hitting third baseman was a key part of the Braves’ historic run of 14 straight division titles from 1991-2005, which included the 1995 World Series championship and Jones being named NL MVP in 1999. He retired after the 2012 season with a career .303 average, 468 homers and a .930 OPS, and was elected into the Hall of Fame in 2018.
Grissom was also a big part of Atlanta’s 1995 championship and its subsequent NL pennant in 1996. Playing center field and batting leadoff, he hit .385 with three homers and a 1.012 OPS during the 1995 postseason, then followed that up with a ’96 season in which he hit .308 with 23 homers and an .838 OPS.
Joining Jones and Grissom in the dugout as coaches will be a slew of former Braves stars, including Hall of Famer Fred McGriff (AL hitting coach), two-time NL MVP Dale Murphy (AL first-base coach), five-time All-Star Andruw Jones (NL hitting coach) and four-time All-Star Tim Hudson (NL pitching coach).
Rounding out the coaching staff for Jones on the NL side are MLB Network analyst Mark DeRosa (bench coach), former MLB catcher Tyler Flowers (first-base coach), Gwinnett Stripers manager Kanekoa Texeira (third-base coach), former Braves All-Star Nick Markakis (coach) and former MLB reliever Peter Moylan (bullpen coach).
On the AL side, Grissom’s other coaches will be former MLB manager Jerry Manuel (bench coach), former MLB pitcher Marvin Freeman (pitching coach), former MLB player Brian Hunter (third-base coach), former MLB All-Star Ryan Klesko (coach) and former All-Star catcher Johnny Estrada (bullpen coach).
