Forth Wanderers Announce First Album Since 2018, Share New Video: Watch

Forth Wanderers are back. The New Jersey indie-rock quintet—featuring vocalist Ava Trilling, guitarist Ben Guterl, drummer Zach Lorelli, bassist Noah Yu Schifrin, and guitarist Duke Greene—will return soon with its first album since 2018. The new album, The Longer This Goes On, is out July 18 via Sub Pop. Watch the new video for the single “7 Months” below.

Forth Wanderers self-released their first album, Tough Love, in 2014, and their self-titled album arrived via Sub Pop in 2018. Shortly after the second album came out, the band canceled a tour, with Ava Trilling citing “a recently diagnosed mental health issue” that she later disclosed to be a panic disorder and agoraphobia. After the tour’s cancellation, the band effectively dissolved.

According to a press release, Trilling and Ben Guterl reconvened in Brooklyn, New York, in the summer of 2021. “We talked for four or five hours about everything under the sun,” she said. “At the tail end of our conversation, Ben asked if I wanted to try making music again.”

Eventually, Forth Wanderers got to work on the 10 songs that would become The Longer This Goes On. The new album was produced by Dan Howard at Chateau Grand Studios and Future Sounds in New York, and mixed and mastered by Al Carlson at Gary’s Electric in New York.
