K'Andre Miller underwent surgery in start to Rangers offseason

Rangers defenseman K’Andre Miller underwent surgery for an upper-body injury he sustained toward the end of the 2024-25 season.

After attempting to rehab the undisclosed injury, the pending restricted free agent ultimately decided surgery was his best option.

He is expected to make a full recovery and be back around the start of next season, per league source.

The 25-year-old is coming off his fifth season with the Blueshirts, during which he posted seven goals and 20 assists for 27 points in 74 games.

He has averaged more 20 minutes per game in each season he’s played since making his NHL debut on Jan. 14, 2021.

Amid Miller’s need for a new contract, the injury doesn’t exactly make the 6-foot-5 defenseman an appealing trade target, if that’s the route Rangers president and general manager Chris Drury wanted to go.

Otherwise, Miller, who has arbitration rights, should be near the top of the list of the Rangers’ remaining offseason business.
