With NBA playoffs viewership through last Monday averaging 3.7 million viewers on ESPN, ABC, TNT and NBA TV—up 5% from last year, according to Sports Media Watch—and second-round games averaging 4.83 million viewers, up 5% from 2024, the league’s hoping that some glimpses of the past will have fans awaiting the NBA Finals ahead.

The 2025 NBA Finals have YouTube TV as a presenting sponsor and start June 5 on ABC.

“An NBA game is always exciting, but an NBA Finals game is wall-to-wall thrills,” said Kaling. “The stakes could not be higher. I don’t know what it’s like for the players, but that’s what it feels like for me watching!”
