Nick Kyrgios to return to French Open after eight years in men's doubles

“The French Open was never really on the cards,” Kyrgios told the Canberra Times.

“But after the stuff with Max Purcell, Jordan was looking for a partner and he asked me if I wanted to play.

“We’ve played at the French Open before, so it’ll be good to get out there and play with another fellow Aussie and have a bit of fun.”

The pair reached the third round when they played together in Paris in 2017, notably knocking out second-seeded pair Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut in round one.

Kyrgios won the men’s doubles at the 2022 Australian Open, partnering Thanasi Kokkinakis, while Thompson won the US Open title with Purcell last year.

The 2025 French Open will run from 25 May to 8 June.
