Paul Craig vs. Rodolfo Bellato cancelled last minute at UFC Fight Night

A scheduled co-main event between Paul Craig and Rodolfo Bellato was cancelled shortly before both men were set to make the walk to the cage Saturday at a UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas.

The UFC commentary team announced during the live broadcast that Brazil’s Bellato had withdrawn from the light-heavyweight bout due to a medical issue.

Bellato had been unbeaten in his five previous pro bouts. The specific issue was not made immediately clear, but the UFC did announce the matchup would be rescheduled for a future event — potentially as early as May 31 when the UFC returns to the Apex for another Fight Night card.

Scotland’s Craig was supposed to be returning to the 205-pound division after a four-fight run at 185 pounds that ended in consecutive losses to Brendan Allen, Caio Borralho and Bo Nickal.

Craig only has one win in the past three years, yet his best work was as a light-heavyweight, with three of his UFC wins being stoppages of former champions Jamahal Hill, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and current champion Magomed Ankalaev.
