Report: 49ers sign All-Pro LB Fred Warner to three-year, $63M extension

The San Francisco 49ers have had quite an expensive month.

After inking quarterback Brock Purdy and tight end George Kittle to lucrative extensions throughout May, they added linebacker Fred Warner to that list on Monday.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the four-time All-Pro has agreed to extend with the 49ers on a three-year, $63 million deal. A contract that includes $56 million in guaranteed money and makes Warner the NFL’s highest-paid linebacker.

It’s the second time in his seven-year career that the 28-year-old has landed a contract that puts him atop the highest-paid players at his position.

Warner earns the deal after a third consecutive All-Pro selection in 2024. He played in all 17 games for San Francisco, posting 131 total tackles, including five tackles for loss, four forced fumbles and one sack.
