Scottie Scheffler stepped up on the back nine Sunday to run away from the field and win the PGA Championship.
The world No. 1 went for birdies on holes 10, 14 and 15 to separate himself from the field and claim his third major championship.
Scheffler entered the final round with a three-shot lead at Quail Hollow and bounced back from three bogeys on the front nine to end the tournament five strokes ahead of runners-up Harris English, Davis Riley and Bryson DeChambeau.
It was shaping up to be a close finish between Scheffler and Jon Rahm, but the Spaniard ended his round with a bogey and two double-bogeys on his final three holes to fall back in the chase.
Canada’s Taylor Pendrith tied for fifth at 5 under.
